Total of 62 Unit at Shanghai and Shenzhen

Toshiba Elevator has received order from one of the largest luxury shopping center,"Avenue Shanghai", consisting 22 units of high-speed elevators and 19 units of escalators. Meanwhile, Toshiba also received order of 21 units of elevators including high-speed elevators from a development project, "Shenzhen Kerry Plaza Phase II".

"Avenue Shanghai" is a mixed development with facilities such as offices, commercial buildings and residential area. It has 28 floors above the ground and 4 underground floors. The construction of this building started from November 2009 and expected to complete by January 2012. This development, Shanghai LuxChina Mixed-use Project is a joint venture between the France based conglomerate, Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton Group (hereinafter named as LVMH) and the Hong Kong-Macau based Stanley Ho Group. According to the plan, 60 or above luxury brands under LVMH group will be brought into this building. This development is expected to meet the rapid growth of living standard in Shanghai and to attract the attentions of wealthy consumers. The high-speed elevators to be installed into this building have maximum speed of 360m/min.

On the other hand, the Shenzhen Kerry Plaza Phase II is the development project, which possessed by Kerry Development (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. This office building has 43 floors above the ground and 3 floors underground. 18 out of 21 units of elevators ordered are high-speed elevators with maximum speed of 420m/min. The construction of this building is started from July 2009 and expected to complete by July 2011.

Toshiba Elevator's overseas subsidiary, Chevalier (HK) LTD. (hereinafter named as CHKL) obtained these two contracts. CHKL is strengthening its global market in Hong Kong, Singapore and other Southeast Asia region, promoting the high-speed elevator for high-rise buildings and also standard elevators for mid/low-rise buildings.
